The first section of the museum, inaugurated in 1963, is dedicated to the Treasury, which includes what remains of the extraordinary heritage of relics and goldsmith work donated to the Monza basilica by kings and archbishops between the 7th and 11th centuries.
Two main collections stand out: the one consisting of the furnishings offered in the early 7th century by the Lombard kings Agilulf and Theodelinda, founders of the church around 595-600, and the collection of precious artifacts donated by Emperor Berengar I at the beginning of the 10th century.
Additionally, this section houses valuable medieval liturgical vestments.
